Welcome, we're so glad you stopped by. Let me tell you a little about ourselves. We are Dwight and Paula Caffee. We live on 10 acres in northeastern Oklahoma. Dwight and I have had dogs in our lives almost from the moment we were married. Like a lot of people we started in mixed breeds and pure bred pets. It always seemed our family wasn't complete without a dog in our lives. We started in Newfoundlands in the 70's and when we decided to get a second breed a Whippet was it. Time passed and after being out of showing dogs for awhile, we wanted to start again. We decided that Whippets best suit us. After talking to different breeders and looking around for two years, we found the person who helped us get started. That person was Carolynn Bates (Cajen Whippets). We will be forever grateful for all the help and mentoring Carolynn has given us through the years. We got two Whippets from her in 1997. Ch Cajen Coquette aka Cokie and Cajen Fillette JC aka Fillie. Cokie is gone now, but will be forever remembered. Fillie is and always has been the sweetest dog we have ever owned. Going to shows is something Dwight and I enjoy doing together. In fact, if Dwight hadn't been handling at a show where Carolynn was we probably never would have met her. He handled other peoples dogs while we were looking for that very special Whippet to become part of our family. When we did find Cokie and Fillie and he started showing them, it seemed like often there was a conflict with his client dogs and our Whippets. So after awhile he decided that he would rather show only our Whippets and he no longer handles other peoples dogs. We have received many awards in the show ring with our Whippets. That first group placement you could have heard me scream in the next town. Through Carolynn we have been introduced to things other then showing that we enjoy doing with our Whippets. So now we try to make all the lure coursing and race meets we can. Watching our Whippets run is always a joy. Dwight has been working on a straight track here where we live in Oklahoma. It's not finished, but we still use it to let our Whippets get some practice runs in now and then. As far as Whippet litters, we don't breed often. When we do have a litter it is mainly because we want a new puppy for ourselves. Of course we can't keep every puppy from a litter. Therefore, when we have a litter we will announce it on our Puppies link. If we don't have anything we'd be glad to refer you to a reputable breeder. In the mean time pull up a chair, have a cup of Joe, wonder through our web site and please sign our guest book and tell us what you think. Again thanks for stopping by. |
