| In the 1970's the Caffees produced a Whippet litter under the kennel name they used for their Newfoundlands. When they decided to breed Fillie, they opted for a new kennel name that was a better fit for them and for the Whippet breed.
Between their tendency to do things on the spur of the moment and go off on a "wild hare" and the Whippets love of chasing bunnies, "Wildhare" seemed like a good choice. On December 01, 1999, Wildhare Whippets' first litter was born. There were 4 males and 4 females born. Paula chose a Shakespeare theme for naming the pups. They kept a female and named her "Wildhare The Winters Tale" Because the play for which she was named was one of Shakespeare best dramas, she became "Drama" and boy, does that name fit! She is very dramatic, always telling what she thinks. As with her mother, Drama's championship was not finished. From time to time, the subject of putting her in the ring again resurfaces. Who knows? Some day, that might just happen. Drama loves to chase the lure and has her Senior Courser title. She has also runs in the straight races. Drama was bred once and produced a nice litter of 4 males and 3 females. A female pup from the litter was retained by kennel Wildhare. Drama decided a long time ago she was Paula's dog and Paula wouldn't have it any other way. They have spent many nights together curled up in their favorite chair. |
