Cajen Fillette JC

"Fillie"

Cajen Fillet, JC

(Am Ch Cajen City Of New Orleans X Quicksilver Cajen Chloe)

The wait was over.  Carolynn Bates (Cajen Whippets) had a litter we were very interested in.  So off we went to meet her at a friends home in Oklahoma City.  It was such a beautiful litter I didn't know how we would ever pick "one" puppy.

We sat on the ground playing with first one puppy then another one.  It seemed that both Dwight and I were most interested in the girls in the litter.  The only problem was Dwight liked one girl and I liked another one.  They were both beautiful.  It just seemed like the one he liked felt the same for him and the one I liked did the same toward me.

So here we sat for the longest time trying to decide which "one" would go home with us.  I think Carolynn knew we really would love to have both of them, so she made both our dreams come true and said, "Why don't you just take both of them."  That was all it took and we agreed.

So Dwight's girl was to be named Cajen Fillette.  Carolynn's theme for this litter was a French name for the puppies.  If I'm remembering correct, a loose translating for Fillette is "little girl"  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Both girls grew into beautiful Whippets.  When we started showing them, we would show one of them one day and the other one the other day.  Fillie did very well while we showed her and enjoyed the show ring.

She earned 6 points toward her championship.  However, we never finished her.

She also liked to chase the bunny and has her Junior Courser title.  She ran some straight races also.
We bred her once and kept her daughter Drama from that litter.  She is now spayed and enjoys being the grand dam of the house.  We laugh and say Fillie always teaches the new puppies that come into our family manners.  She does that in a very nice easy way so they will grow up into just as nice and sweet Whippet as she is.  We love her very much and are now watching her grow old with grace and even more beauty.
Thank you so much, Carolynn, for letting us have our Fillie girl.  She is and always has been the sweetest dog we have ever owned.
