| After Delta finished her championship, The Caffees found a beautiful male nearby, in Kansas, Ch Elidas Stardom In Action JC, to whom to breed her. Many thanks to Shellie Juden (Elidas Whippets) for making this possible!
Delta and Pete's pedigrees fit wonderfully well together.
With a litter on the way, it seemed like a good time to contemplate about a litter-naming theme. Although Paula was usually the one who came up with litter themes, this time it was Dwight's turn. He chose to have these puppies named for the wild Oklahoma weather conditions. The Caffees opted to retain a male from the litter, a first for them. When challenged to name the pup, the summer of 2006 provided inspiration. It had been dry and hot, with lots of thunder. This thunder seldom came with rain and was always off in the distance. So, their first male would be named "Wildhare Distant Thunder". Until they had Thunder, they had no idea how very loving a male Whippet could be. Thunder is a love. Living with him is wonderful. |
